Oregon Boer Goats: 2012 Goats are here!

The Boer goat was developed in South Africa in the early 1900s for meat production. Their name is derived from the Dutch word "Boer" meaning farmer. Due to selective breeding and improvement, the Boer goat has a fast growth rate, commonly have white bodies and distinctive brown heads and long, pendulous ears.

Our Goal at Oregon Boer Goats is to Improve Quality through Optimum Health and Top Breeding Stock.

All our animals are routinely vaccinated. We also follow recommended testing for diseases such as C.A.E. and C.L. Each sale comes with a complete record of vaccination, testing and breeding.

Oregon Boer Goats is located 3 miles west of Yamhill on a 33 acre hillside. The Peterson family, with Joyce being the herd's caretaker, owns Oregon Boer Goats. Joyce has over 30 years of experience in goat husbandry and has specialized in Boer Goats for the past 15 years.
