Message from Oregon Boer Goats, 2015
The Boer goat was developed in South Africa in the early 1900s for meat production. Their name is derived from the Dutch word "Boer" meaning farmer. Due to selective breeding and improvement, the Boer goat has a fast growth rate, commonly have white bodies and distinctive brown heads and long, pendulous ears.
All great activities must come to an end, and our breeding program of exceptional boer goats is now one of them. Most of our herd has been sold so if you would like information on any of our past breeding animals, you can still email us with questions.
