Purebred and Crossbred Boer Goats For Sale

We are now able to offer registerable purebred and cross bred boer goats!
We began raising Toggenburg Dairy Goats as 4-H project animals in 1996. As a business venture and a way to add value to our family goat business, we began breeding some of our dairy does to Fullblood bucks owned by Joyce Peterson at Oregon Boer Goats. We have selectively continued to use her breeding services and now produce 31/32nd purebreds. We added a Fullblood Boer buck to our herd, also from Joyces blood lines, and allowing us to offer high quality, reasonably priced 50% percent breeding does as well as crossbred market goats.
Are you thinking about starting a hobby or business?
Wonder how to get started?
We have continued to be involved with the 4-H programs and feel it is essential for new goat owners to learn about these great animals before you buy!
Before you buy, do your research!
What do goats need? Fences. Food. Water. Shelter.
All goats need access to clean, fresh water and hay or forage.
(But be careful the goats don't have access to trees you want to stay alive!)
Be prepared: goats need a GOOD STRONG FENCE and shelter.
Goats need to be able to get out of the wind, rain, snow and hot summer sun. A new goat kid should be kept inside in an enclosure for the first few days so that it can get aquainted with "Mom" and learn about its surroundings.
Make a commitment to feed/take care of your goats twice a day; or at least eye ball them for a few minutes. You need to watch them long enough so you can tell when they are not acting normal. A sick goat can go downhill quickly.
Keeping a Buck is a big decision. They need their own yard or a good strong pen away from the girls. They are mischevious and it seems that they are always trying to prove what they can do! Having a common fence-line separating them is not enough. One year we had does began kidding 3 weeks earlier than we expected. Cause? The buck bred them through the small openings in the non-climb horse fencing when he was in the pasture next to them.
We always recommend a short visit to our farm prior to purchasing. Remember, every goat breeder has their own way of doing things. Our hope is that what we do may give you some good ideas.
